The Premier League's return is now just one week away but who will end the season with the league's Golden Boot trophy in their hands?
Odds Now have taken a closer look at the market leaders to find you the best value.
It shouldn’t come as a surprise to see the big Norwegian come in as an overwhelming favourite to secure a third consecutive Golden Boot.
Haaland’s record since entering the Premier League has been phenomenal. His debut season saw a stunning 36 goal haul, before following it up with another impressive 27 strikes in 2023-24.
Both efforts proved vital in title-winning seasons for his club Manchester City who are once again favourites to secure a record fifth-consecutive Premier League crown.
Norway’s failure to qualify for the European Championships also means the 24-year-old enjoyed a lengthy rest over the summer, leaving him fit and firing to break more records in the top-flight this season.
Liverpool and Egypt talisman Mohamed Salah has also enjoyed a quiet summer.
While many of his club teammates set sail for the Euros and Copa America tournaments, Salah was able to put his feet up ahead of his eighth season in Liverpool colours.
The break meant the 32-year-old was among the first group to return for pre-season training in early July under new head coach Arne Slot.
Salah’s goal-scoring record speaks for itself. No other player has netted more than his 151 goals during the Premier League era for Liverpool.
He has also won the Premier League’s Golden Boot on three separate occasions and managed a healthy 18 strikes last season.
While Haaland’s proficiency leaves him a clear favourite for the mantle, Salah is certainly the strongest candidate out of the chasing pack given his pedigree in front of goal.
The Swedish international announced himself as one of the Premier League’s best goalscorers in a struggling Newcastle team last season.
Isak found the back of the net 21 times in his second season in England’s top-flight.
The return led to the 24-year-old being linked with big money moves elsewhere but he looks set to remain in the North-East during the 2024-25 campaign.
Isak may not have the track record of the likes of Haaland and Salah in English football, but stands as one of multiple emerging forwards set to take the league by storm over the coming seasons.
He is also well-rested following Sweden’s failure to reach the Euros in the summer.
The England striker is the first on this list who actually played in one of the summer’s continental tournaments.
While Watkins might not have had the same amount of rest enjoyed by those above him, his exploits in England colours will leave him in a buoyant mood upon returning to Aston Villa training.
The former Brentford striker etched his name in history with a last-gasp strike over the Netherlands to secure England a place in the Euro 2024 final.
While Gareth Southgate’s side ultimately lost to Spain in the showpiece, the tournament marked an end to a stunning season for Watkins, which began with 19 Premier League goals in Aston Villa colours.
Like Isak, he too looks set to remain with his current club, who are set to play Champions League football for the first time.
Another successful season might see one of Europe’s big-hitters come knocking, though.
Heralded as the signing of the season for 2023-24, the former Manchester City man exceeded expectations and then some in his maiden season with Chelsea.
Producing a staggering 22 goals and 11 assists in an uninspiring side led my Mauricio Pochettino, Palmer had more than earned a spot in England's Euro 2024 squad.
He wasn't done there, either. The 22-year-old rose from the bench in the tournament final to score an equalising goal for his country, albeit in a match where the Three Lions came up short after losing 2-1.
Nevertheless, Palmer remains a leading candidate for the Golden Boot mantle this term under a new manager in Enzo Maresca.
His nomination as Chelsea's first-choice penalty-taker only enhances his chance of sitting high in the scoring charts once again.
A surprising inclusion to the list comes in the form of Liverpool and Uruguay forward Darwin Nunez.
The 25-year-old has endured a mix bag since signing with the Merseyside club in the summer of 2022, but his talent is clear for all to see.
Nunez is a handful for any defence in the division and would almost certainly sit higher in the odds if he was more clinical in front of goal.
He netted 11 times in the league last season but recorded 27 big chances missed across the 2023-24 campaign.
His two goals at the Copa America in the summer will boost his confidence but Nunez would need to improve tenfold if he is to get anywhere near claiming the Golden Boot in 2024-25.
Haaland is the obvious answer. He'd be most people's pick when prompted. However, he did miss 15 games in all competitions through injury last season compared to only five in his first campaign in City colours.
More injury troubles could open the door for one of the other leading candidates and, at a best price of 10/1, backing Mohamed Salah to claim a fourth Golden Boot could look an absolute steal come May.
Sure, he was for from his best in the final months of last season but his goalscoring record speaks for itself. His physical condition is also sublime for a man of his age and he will continue to be one of the first names on the teamsheet for a Liverpool side preparing for their first term under new head coach Arne Slot.
An injury-free Haaland will likely outscore everyone but, should his injury woes from last season return, Salah looks best set to surmount him in the scoring columns.
