Aston Villa welcome West Ham to Villa Park in the FA Cup third round on Friday evening.

Can the hosts continue their impressive home form, or will Julen Lopetegui keep his head off the chopping block with a much-needed win in the Midlands?

Odds Now's Aston Villa vs West Ham selection

Aston Villa's improving home form

Aston Villa have suffered from inconsistency of late, picking up only two wins in their last five.

Unai Emery will be grateful to see his side's home form improve, though.

The Villains are now unbeaten in their last five matches at Villa Park, having failed to win any of their previous four prior to that run.

Their 2-1 win over Leicester City on Saturday saw Villa score two goals for the third consecutive home game.

Julen Lopetegui shown exit door in build-up

The former Real Madrid boss' future at the London Stadium has been cast in doubt for a while now, and the club finally showed Lopetegui the exit door on Wednesday afternoon.

West Ham find themselves 14th in the league and with just one win in five, it seemed to be a case of 'when' rather than 'if' the Spaniard would leave.

Former Chelsea and Brighton manager Graham Potter has reportedly agreed to replace him in the West Ham dugout, though it is unclear whether he will sign in time to take charge for this one.

Aston Villa vs West Ham best bets

Villa secured a 2-1 away victory against West Ham in August, but have claimed just two victories on the road since.

Thankfully for Emery, his men have been much stronger at home, with only Liverpool and Brentford boasting better records on their own patch in the Premier League.

Villa have also failed to score on only two occasions at Villa Park this term, though conceding goals has been a problem.

They've registered just two clean sheets in the league, both of which came in home matches, and both teams have found the net in 73% of Villa's home games.

West Ham also tend to score on the road, failing to do so just once so far, though only three of their away fixtures have ended in victory.

Putting all this together, all signs tend to point to an Aston Villa win with both teams scoring, which comes in at a best price of 11/5 with multiple sportsbooks.
