Odds Now's Sheffield United vs Cardiff City selection

Sheffield United's recent struggles

The Blades come into this game sitting third in the Championship, among the teams vying for a spot in the Premier League next season.

Chris Wilder's have endured somewhat patchy form recently though, winning just two of their last five matches.

In fact, their 2-1 win at Watford last time out ended a three match winless run.

Nevertheless, Sheffield United still boast the third-best home record in the division and also claimed a 2-0 victory over Cardiff last month.

Cardiff staring relegation in the face

To say Cardiff are struggling in this season would be an understatement.

The Bluebirds have picked up just five wins in the Championship so far, leaving them 23rd and just three points off bottom spot.

Omer Riza's men have only one win to their name in their last 12 outings and have averaged a measly 0.77 points in away fixtures.

There have been some signs of improvement with a three-match unbeaten run heading into Thursday evening, though they still face a stern task against one of the Championship's strongest outfits.

Sheffield United vs Cardiff City best bet

The Blades haven’t been convincing of late but should still have too much for their struggling Welsh counterparts.

Sheffield United have lost just 1 of their last 13 home matches and face a Cardiff side with a paltry record on the road.

Only 17% of matches at Bramall Lane have seen three or more goals scored this season, averaging 1.83 goals per game, suggesting a Sheffield United win in a low-scoring affair lies in wait for Friday evening.
