Fabio Wardley defends his British heavyweight title against Olympic bronze medalist Frazer Clarke this Sunday at the O2 Arena in London.

The two finally get the chance to face off after Clarke’s promoter Ben Shalom withdrew him from the same match-up last year.

Tale of the Tape

Ipswich’s Wardley (17-0, 16 KOs) comes into the contest on the back of a career best win after stopping David Adeleye out in Saudi Arabia.

The British champion has next to no experience in the unpaid ranks, having only a handful of white-collar fights before turning professional in 2017. However, Wardley has took the professional game by storm and has dropped or stopped every opponent he has faced, giving him a 94% KO ratio.

Clarke’s (8-0, 6 KOs) story is a very different one, with Tokyo Olympian failing to live up to the hype surrounding him since turning professional in 2022. The Burton fighter has struggled to finish opponents such as Mariusz Wach and Kamil Sokolowski inside the scheduled distance.

Clarke most recently struggled against an out of shape Dave Allen until the Doncaster fighter quit on his stool after repeated low blows. He will be hoping his amateur pedigree will shine through however, and has shown he carries power himself with a 75% KO ratio.

Prediction

It’s hard to look past Wardley’s record as a professional given his performance in every fight so far, from the small hall circuit to the glitz and glamour of Riyadh last year.

Clarke is still yet to prove that he is at the level of Wardley, and this will be his first contest over 12-rounds. The Tokyo Olympian has struggled towards the end of fights with his stamina and Wardley has stopped multiple opponents late in contests, with OddsNow backing the champion to make the second defence of his British heavyweight crown this weekend.

OddsNow's Picks: Fight to go over 8.5 rounds (21/20 @ StarSports); Wardley by KO/TKO (5/6 @ vbet)
