Leicester City host Norwich City in the Sky Bet Championship on Monday as the home side looks to regain top spot.
In the previous meeting between the pair, Leicester City won 2-0 away at Carrow Road. Kick off is set for 12:30PM UK time at the King Power Stadium.
Leicester City’s form has been unconvincing lately, despite being just two points off the top spot. A 1-0 away loss to mid-table Bristol City typified the Foxes' recent struggles in the second division.
Leicester have also won only two of the last five at the King Power Stadium, with the most recent home match resulting in a 2-1 loss to QPR.
Despite their poor form, Leicester have performed better at home throughout the Championship season. Leicester have averaged 2.2 points per match in their league games at home (W13, D1, L4), compared to an average of 2.1 points on the road (W13, D3, L4). Leicester have also maintained a +26 goal difference in their home matches, scoring 37 and conceding eleven in 18 games so far.
Leicester have an average of 16 shots at home with an 8.31% conversion rate and have only failed to score in 11% of home matches. They have also scored over 2.5 goals in 33% of their home matches. They are yet to concede over 2.5 goals at home this season. Matches at the King Power Stadium have averaged a total of 2.6 goals per game so far.
The home side's recent form makes for difficult reading, though. Leicester have only won of their last five while conceding eight and scoring just five. Leicester also managed to keep just one clean sheet in those five matches.
The Canaries head to the East Midlands having won four of their last five league matches, the most recent being a 2-1 home victory over Plymouth Argyle. Their overall away form has been poor this season though, with Norwich averaging just 1.05 points per away game so far.
An impressive scoring record of 1.68 per away match is hampered by a worrying 1.68 goals conceded so far, with only 11% of games on their travels ending in a clean sheet. Norwich have scored in 84% of away games so far, though, and their away games have averaged a total of 3.68 goals this campaign.
Over 53% of Norwich's away matches have seen them concede at least three goals - hardly ample preparation when facing freescoring Leicester side, irrespective of their recent troubles.
Norwich are no doubt the in-form team out of the two but their poor form on the road is hard to ignore. Even though Leicester have struggled of late, their overall home form this season has been strong and tend to find the net in front of their own fans.
Backing either side on the moneyline would be a risky pick, but one thing that can be expected for sure is goals. Norwich's away games tend to be high-scoring, while Leicester's games on home turf have averaged 2.67 total goals so far. More goalmouth action can be anticipated in this one.
