Spain take on France in the second of two glamorous UEFA Nations League semi-finals on Thursday night.

Both teams to score

This bet looks impossible to ignore considering the attacking talent on show.

Taking your pick from Lamine Yamal, Pedri, Kylian Mbappe, Ousmane Dembele, Michael Olise and Desire Doue, there is a strong argument that this match features the best player in the world and several other members of the top 10, too.

Spain’s recent matches also point towards goals. The European champions have produced 2-1, 3-2, 2-2 and 3-3 scorelines in their last four games – the last two of which were in a hugely dramatic two-legged affair with the Netherlands back in March.

BTTS was also a winner in all of the Spaniards’ last four matches of Euro 2024, meaning it has landed in eight of their last 12 overall.

Meanwhile, France have scored 14 goals in their last eight matches and look a good bet to exploit Spain’s weakness when it comes to defending.

Didier Deschamps has an embarrassment of riches to pick from here, all of whom have the skill, pace and power to find at least one goal.

I’m going to take BTTS in the shorter price and team it up with over 2.5 goals in the long shot.

Fabian Ruiz shots

Ruiz scored three goals at Euro 2024 and has continued to provide a threat from midfield for PSG this season.

The Spaniard averaged 1.4 shots per game across the Ligue 1 campaign and also had at least one effort in seven of their last nine Champions League matches.

He has had one shot in six of eight Nations League outings since last summer, hitting two or more on four of those occasions.

Coming up against several of his club team-mates, I’m hoping he’ll be out to make an impression and fire off at least one effort.

Michael Olise shots

Olise has been a shot monster in the Bundesliga this season, averaging 2.5 per game and taking three or more in all of his last seven games.

He also had at least one effort in every Champions League match this term, including three or more in eight of his last nine.

At international level, the right-winger has had a shot in five of his six Nations League appearances in this campaign, so looks a safe addition to both recommended bets.
