Germany take on Portugal in the first UEFA Nations League semi-final in Munich on Wednesday evening.

Adam Drury (@Adam_Drury1) is predicting an entertaining match, picking out 23/20 and 13/2 bets.

Nations League semi-final betting tips – Saturday May 31, 2025

Goals, goals, goals

These two sides are among the best and most entertaining in Europe and could serve up a high-quality thriller here.

Germany secured qualification for this stage after a 2-1 win and 3-3 draw against Italy in March, proving their vulnerability by throwing away a 3-0 lead to creep over the line in the second leg.

This bet has won in four of their eight matches since Euro 2024, with two of the exceptions ending in 5-0 and 7-0 victories at home to worse opposition than Portugal.

They have scored in all of their last 14 matches and notched at least two goals in 10 of those games, so another couple of strikes is within their grasp here.

Even if Julian Nagelsmann’s side only score once, Portugal can still see us over the line for the recommended bet.

Roberto Martinez’s side have scored 18 goals in eight matches since the Euros, with this bet winning in five of those matches.

For all of the reasonable criticism he receives for his all-round play, Cristiano Ronaldo has scored six goals on that run, while Rafael Leao, Diogo Jota, Goncalo Ramos and Pedro Neto also provide plenty of firepower.

I’ll take BTTS & over 2.5 goals at 23/20 with William Hill.

Back Dalot in the cards market

Diogo Dalot picked up seven yellow cards and one red for Manchester United this season and looks the obvious bet to go into the book in Munich.

The full-back was carded in the first leg of the last round against Denmark and commits plenty of fouls – five across those two legs, and eight in total in five starts in this Nations League campaign.

Dalot will likely be coming up against one of Leroy Sane and Serge Gnabry so there should be plenty of opportunities to commit fouls, as proven by the fact that three of Italy’s back five were booked in the second leg of their tie against Germany in March.
