SC Freiburg continue to hunt down a spot in Europe next season as they host Wolfsburg at the Europa-Park Stadion on Saturday.

The hosts sit five points below sixth-placed Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa Conference League qualification place. Wolfsburg, meanwhile, are not yet safe at the bottom of the table as they sit only four points clear of the relegation play-off place.

Freiburg secured a 1-0 away win in the reverse fixture back in December. Kick-off is set for 2:30pm UK time on Saturday afternoon.

Recent Form

SC Freiburg

Christian Streich's men have enjoyed solid form of late, recording four wins in their last seven matches. Their home form has been the real concern, with Freiburg failing to pickup a win in their last six outings at Europa-Park Stadion. Such a run has left both Augsburg and Hoffenheim with a point of them and has threatened to derail any push for a spot in Europe next term.

Goals haven't been a problem, with Freiburg averaging an impressive 1.73 goals on home turf and failing to score in only one of these games so far. Conceding goals have been their main issue; an average of 1.8 shipped at home has cost them dearly, leaving them with just four home clean sheets. They have also conceded an alarming 13 goals in their last five.

Wolfsburg

The away side have hardly convinced lately themselves, but did secure a 1-0 home win over VfL Bochum last time out. Their form on the road has certainly been alarming, with Wolfsburg managing just one win in their last seven on their travels and averaging 0.8 points across 15 away outings in the Bundesliga.

Both scoring and conceding goals have been huge issues for Ralph Hasenhüttl's men. A mere 0.93 scored on average is a terrible return, while the 1.8 conceded is a concerning read given Freiburg's high-scoring tendencies at home.

Only two of their away outings have ended in a Wolfsburg clean sheet, with eight of these matches seeing them concede at least two goals.

Prediction

Freiburg's home form remains a concern but shouldn't be a factor heading into this one. They've had little trouble in finding the net at the Europa-Park Stadion and face a Wolfsburg defence who have made habit of picking the ball out of their own net on the road.

Also, despite the home side's recent tendency to concede goals, they face a toothless Wolfsburg team who have managed only two goals in their last three away matches.
