French champions PSG play host to Premier League kings Manchester City in a crucial Champions League encounter on Wednesday evening.

The result could have a large say in both's knockout qualification prospects, but who will come out on top in Paris?

Odds Now's PSG vs Manchester City betting tip

Both are reigning champions of their respective domestic leagues but have endured their fair share of struggles in the Champions League so far.

City are currently clinging to a spot among the play-off places in 22nd, while hosts PSG are one point adrift of the play-offs in 25th.

Needless to say, both are in dire need of a win to enhance their chances of qualifying for the next round.

PSG come into this having won their last eight matches on the spin, a run which started with a 3-0 win at Red Bull Salzburg in December.

The victory was only their second in the Champions League so far this season, largely due to a dismal performance in front of goal.

This has particularly been the case at home, where PSG have averaged 2.35 xG yet only scored one goal per game on average.

A measly 6% conversion rate certainly hasn't helped their cause.

Meanwhile, City are beginning to show some signs of their former selves.

Pep Guardiola's side have won four of their last five, with the only blemish being a 2-2 draw away at Brentford last week.

Most recently, the Premier League champions picked up a resounding 6-0 win at Ipswich, collecting their third clean sheet in their last five in the process.

Conceding goals has been a major concern during City's now well-documented poor run of form over Christmas, particularly on away soil in Europe.

Six of the nine goals they've conceded have came on their travels in the Champions League, where they've conceded at least two goals in two of their three away fixtures.

Phil Foden's revival in form

City midfielder Phil Foden was named PFA Player of the Year last season but endured a difficult start to the campaign this time around.

The 24-year-old failed to score in any of his first 11 league appearances but now boasts five goals in his last three.

Two of those came in the win at Portman Road last weekend, where he also registered an assist.

Foden already has three goals to his name in the Champions League this season, where he has also averaged 3.8 shots per game so far.

On average, 1.6 of those have also been on target.

PSG have also kept only two clean sheets so far in this competition, including only one at home.

Given Foden now has his tail up, backing the Englishman at a very generous 3/1 to have 1.5+ shots on target against this leaky defence is a more than worthy punt in Paris.
