PSG

Champions elect PSG come into Saturday's clash 12 points clear of Brest in second, knowing they are now within touching distance of a 12th domestic triumph.

Luis Enrique's men secured a 2-0 away win at Marseille in their last league match, extending their unbeaten run to a whopping 22 games in Ligue 1.

Their home form has been rock solid this season, with 28 points collected from a possible 39 (W8 D4 L1) at an average of 2.15 points per game — though they have drawn their last two such clashes against Rennes and Reims respsectively.

PSG are Ligue 1's top scorers at home this season, notching 33 times, which equates to an xG (expected goals) tally of 1.80 per match. Clean sheets are not a foregone conclusion though, with just six of their last 15 league outings being accompanied by a shutout. In fact, the fine form of goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has often been pivotal — including last time out against Marseille when the Italian made 10 saves.

Clermont

Clermont have endured a disastrous campaign following an impressive eighth-placed finish last term, with relegation looking almost assured.

Pascal Gastien's side find themselves seven points from safety at the foot of Ligue 1 with just seven games to go, having won just four of 27 outings. Only a second win of the calendar year against Le Havre had sent them into the international break with renewed hope but that was quickly dampened via last weekend's humbling 3-0 home defeat to Toulouse.

They have only collected 20 points and defeat at the Parc Des Princes will leave them with identical home and away records of two wins, four draws and seven defeats.

Failing to score has been the biggest issue with only 19 goals all season, blanking in 13 of their 27 matches to date. That fate is summarised by the underpeformance of Grejon Kyei, who hit double-figures last campaign but has just two strikes to his name in 2023-24. With an expected goals conceded tally of 1.79 on the road, it is hard to see them having much success in Paris.

Prediction

Betting on the outcome of such a contest looks futile, with PSG expected to stroll to a predictable success. OddsNow believes the total goals line is the best way to maximise returns in this clash, with the 17/20 quotes about over 3.5 strikes seeming very fair.

OddsNow's Pick: Over 3.5+ goals scored (17/20, Betfair)
