Struggling Serie A holders Napoli welcome relegation threatened Frosinone to the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on Sunday afternoon.
The two sides last met on the opening day of the season, where Napoli came away 3-1 victors. Kick-off is set for 11:30am UK time.
Since winning their first title in 33 years last season, things have not exactly gone as planned for Napoli, who sit ten points outside the Champions League places in seventh. Now on their third managed of the season under Franceso Calzona, they have looked fairly poor of late and have only one win from their last four games. Aside from three points taken from Monza (4-2), they have lost 3-0 to Atalanta and had two 1-1 draws with Inter Milan and Torino. A goal apiece has been the scoreline in half of their last eight games.
Napoli have struggled at home this campaign, with only seven teams holding worse records on home soil in Serie A. With a poor win rate of only 40% at the Armando, they have struggled to turn control of the ball into goals. An average of 64% possession has only seen them score an average of 1.33 goals a game, compared to an expected goals (xG) tally of 2.2 at home. It would seem that the issue lies in how clinical they have been, converting only 8% of their shots so far.
The side are underperforming on both ends of the pitch, conceding an average of 1.4 goals a game against an expected goals against (xGA) of 1.1. They have also managed clean sheets in only 13% of their games at home.
Their opponents meanwhile are in a bit of a tailspin themselves, now sitting in 18th heading into the fixture. Frosinone have failed to win in their last ten games, though four have ended in draws. They are also yet to record an away victory this season, with 73% of their away fixtures ending in defeat.
Only eight more sides have scored more goals this season (38) but only 13 of these have come on the road. Their defensive record isn't much better, with Frosinone having conceded more away goals than any other side (35). Despite averaging an xGA of 1.62, they've conceded an average of 2.33 goals per away fixture so far.
