Manchester City vs Bournemouth: Betting tips for Tuesday night contest

Written by: Adam Drury

Manchester City host Bournemouth in a crunch game in the race for the top five on Tuesday evening.

City will still be smarting from Saturday’s FA Cup final defeat to Crystal Palace, while Bournemouth’s outside chance of European qualification means they still have an interest.

Adam Drury (@Adam_Drury1) picks out 11/4 and 16/1 selections with Bet365 for the clash at the Etihad.

Manchester City vs Bournemouth betting tips – Monday May 19, 2025

Nico O’Reilly shots

We’re playing with fire slightly when it comes to Pep Guardiola’s team selection, which is virtually impossible to predict, but if O’Reilly starts we want to have him on side for shots.

O’Reilly has had at least one effort on goal in each of his last four Premier League starts, twice going on to register two.

His record is particularly good at home, where he has had one or more shots in all of his last four league outings, with his darting runs into the box from left-back a feature of his game.

While he did not technically have a shot at Wembley on Saturday, he did miss a couple of glorious chances to let fly from inside the box and if he keeps picking up those positions, he is very unlikely not to land us this bet.

We’ll take him for one shot in the 11/4 bet and two or more in the 16/1 shot.

Matheus Nunes tackles

We’re once again at the mercy of team selection here, though there’s every chance Nunes comes in after missing Saturday’s final.

The Portuguese international has made two and four tackles in his last two outings, and has made at least two in four of his last five home Premier League starts.

Those raw numbers are enough for us, and we’ll take him for two or more in the 11/4 bet and three or more in the 16/1 bet builder.

Antoine Semenyo tackles

Semenyo’s tackle numbers are strong for an attacking player.

The Bournemouth forward averages 1.6 tackles per game this season and has made at least one in all but eight of his Premier League starts this season.

That run includes one challenge in eight of his last 10 starts in the league, with that tally at least doubling on seven of those occasions.

Considering his side will send much of this game without the ball, we’ll be brave and back him for two or more tackles at the Etihad in the shorter-price bet and three or more for the long price.
