Brighton vs Liverpool: Two Monday night Premier League betting tips

Written by: Adam Drury

Brighton host Liverpool on Monday Night Football, with both teams playing largely for pride having seen their respective fates sealed in previous weeks.

Adam Drury (@Adam_Drury1) picks out 9/4 and 22/1 bets with Unibet for the clash on the south coast – with the same bets sitting as short as 4/5 and 5/1 with other firms.

Brighton vs Liverpool betting tips – Monday May 19, 2025

Carlos Baleba shots

Baleba’s hammer of a left foot has been a danger all season, with the midfielder scoring three goals and regularly letting fly from distance.

He has had an effort in nine of his last 14 matches, having multiple shots in five of those games, and has let fly in three of his last four on home turf.

It seems that the better the opposition, the more likely he is to rack up efforts, too.

Baleba has had five shots across two matches against Arsenal, five across two games against Chelsea, three in two outings against Manchester City and one in each of his home games against Newcastle, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest.

He did not feature in the away game at Liverpool but a home game against the champions should inspire him to line up more shots.

I will take him for one or more in the 9/4 bet and two or more in the 22/1 bet.

Virgil van Dijk shots

Van Dijk has come to life in the box recent weeks, becoming a magnet for set-pieces.

The Liverpool skipper has had eight efforts in his last five matches, seven of which have been headers from corners and two of which have resulted in goals.

Brighton have conceded 16 shots from set-pieces in their last five matches, so Liverpool should be able to create plenty of opportunities from those situations.

In what is essentially a dead rubber, I’m hoping for an open game that creates plenty of opportunities at both ends.

I will take Van Dijk to have one or more shots for the 9/4 bet and two or more for the 22/1 – with those prices looking huge compared to what else is available with other firms.
