Hibernian vs Rangers: Betting Odds & Prediction

Written by: Findlay Brown

Rangers travel to Hibernian on Sunday evening for the Scottish Cup quarter-final. The away side look to move a step closer to a second trophy of the season.

Kick-off is set for 5:30pm local time at Easter Road.

Recent Form

Hibernian come into the game unbeaten in their last five matches. Their most recent outing saw them secure a 2-0 home victory over Ross County. Hibs secured their place in the quarters with a 3-1 away win at Inverness last month.

The home side have averaged 1.27 points per game at Easter Road so far, winning five, drawing four and losing six of their 11 league games. Rangers meanwhile have averaged 2.43 points per match on the road, winning 11 of their 14 away league games.

Rangers have also scored an impressive 28 goals on their travels whilst conceding just five, compared to Hibernian who have made habit of shipping goals in their own backyard. 20 goals conceded, whilst scoring 18, make for difficult reading for Hibs fans ahead of the fixture this weekend.

The away side head into the match on the back of a 2-2 away draw at Benfica in the Europa League Round of 16. Rangers reached the quarters with a 2-0 home win against Ayr.

Team News

Hibernian's Luke Amos remains sidelined following an injury against Dundee two weeks ago. He joins Josh Campbell and Jake Doyle-Hayes in the treatment room.

Rangers will be without Todd Cantwell, Alex Lowry, Abdallah Sima, Kieran Dowell, Danilo and Oscar Cortes, who are all expected to miss the tie. Winger Ross McCausland returned to face Benfica and should be available for the week.

Betting Odds

Hibernian predictably enter as heavy underdogs, coming in at 6/1 outright with bet365. Rangers meanwhile are heavy favourites with betway, coming in at 19/40 on the moneyline. The draw sits at 19/5 with Ladbrokes.

Prediction

It's hard to look past an away win for Rangers who boast an impressive record on the road this season. Hibernian have found the net regularly enough at Easter Road but there problems have been at the back, making it difficult to see how they keep out this free-scoring Rangers team.

There's no real value on the moneyline, but due to Hibs' scoring record at home, backing both teams to score seems the sensible option.

OddsNow's Pick: Both teams to score (4/5 @ Ladbrokes)
