La Liga surprise package Girona host Osasuna at Estadi Montilivi this Saturday. The high-flyers look to snap out of their recent poor form but face a stern test from the in-form mid-table outfit.

Girona won the reverse fixture 4-2 earlier in the season.

Recent Form

The hosts have been on a poor run of form recently which has seen their unlikely title challenge falter. They have one win in their last five in the league, leaving them seven points behind league leaders Real Madrid in second place.

However, their home form has been stellar this campaign, with their September loss to Real Madrid being their only defeat at Estadi Montilivi all season. They average around 2.5 goals per game at home.

Osasuna sit in tenth and have been in strong form in recent weeks, gathering ten points from a possible twelve in their last four league fixtures. Bosnian striker Ante Budimir has been a key component in this recent run, scoring 4 in his last 4 and 14 total for the season. Moreover, 8 of his last 9 league goals have come in the second half.

The visitors rank ninth in La Liga’s away table, scoring in seven of their last eight away games in the league.

Team News

Girona will be without centre back David López and midfielder Yangel Herrera. The club’s longest serving player, Juanpe, is expected to start alongside Barcelona loanee Eric García in the heart of defence.

Osasuna meanwhile may be without full back Rubén Peña, who is a doubt. Jesús Areso is likely to continue his run in the side as a result.

Betting Odds

Girona go into the game as favourites, with a home victory at 3/5 via bet365 and Sky Bet. This infers a 60% probability of victory for Los Blanquivermells.

With Estadi Montilivi becoming a fortress this season, Osasuna are understandably the underdogs in this tie. PaddyPower offer odds of 4/1 for an away victory, giving an implied probability of 20%.

A draw is at 16/5 via BetMGM (implied probability of 23.81%).

Budimir scored twice in the reverse fixture despite Osasuna’s defeat and has been in great form recently. VBet have him at 9/4 to score at anytime.

Prediction

Girona have been impervious at home this season, therefore OddsNow back Los Blanquivermells to dispatch of Osasuna.

OddsNow's Pick: Girona to win, Ante Budimir to score at any time in the second half (19/2 at 888Sport)
