Champions Napoli look to extend new manager Francesco Calzona’s unbeaten start as they host mid-table Torino in Friday’s Serie A game.
The late triumph over Juventus last time out was seventh-placed Napoli’s first in front of their own fans since the departure of Walter Mazzarri. A repeat against Juve’s city rivals would avenge a 3-0 humbling in January’s reverse fixture, which saw full back Pasquale Mazzocchi sent off for a horror challenge just four minutes into his Napoli debut - possibly the low point of a largely calamitous title defence.
However, they will have one eye on next week’s Champions League last-16 trip to Barcelona; the home leg - Calzona’s first match in charge - ended 1-1.
Following back-to-back defeats, Torino’s 10 players battled hard to hold Fiorentina in a fiery goalless draw last weekend. The patched-up visitors will also have to overcome head coach Ivan Juric’s absence from the touchline, as he begins a two-game ban from the dugout. Tenth-placed Torino’s goals aggregate of 50 is comfortably the division’s lowest.
Il Toro have won just once away from the Stadio Olimpico since October, but the hosts’ tally of just two clean sheets in 16 league outings offers encouragement.

Facing a growing list of absentees, Torino have a midfield headache - although they will be boosted if Mërgim Vojvoda is able to shake off his back injury. Ivan Ilic faces six weeks out after suffering a knee ligament injury in the goalless draw with Fiorentina. Samuele Ricci is banned following his red card in the same match.
Napoli hope to have winger Cyril Ngonge fit to return to the matchday squad after his recent muscular problem. However, Kosovo centre-back Amir Rrahmani is a doubt.
Napoli are odds-on to take all three points, with several firms pricing them at a best of 10/11 (an implied probability of 52.38%). Torino are a best price of 7/2 (implied probability of 22.22%) to complete an unlikely league double, while William Hill, Betfair and Matchbook price the draw at 5/2 (carrying an implied probability of 28.57%).
