Europe-chasing Eintracht Frankfurt play host to midtable Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga on Friday.
The home side come into the game in sixth, nine points behind fifth-placed RB Leipzig. Meanwhile, Werder Bremen sit in tenth position and are three points behind Hoffenheim in ninth.
Frankfurt have enjoyed stellar home form in the league this term, losing just one of their 13 outings at the Deutsche Bank Park so far. Three of their last five home matches have ended in draws, including in their last fixture, where they drew 0-0 with Union Berlin.
They have impressed in front of goal, scoring an average of 1.69 goals per home match so far, which exceeds their expected goal (xG) tally of 1.25. Frankfurt have only failed to score in 15% of home fixtures, and two or more in 46%.
Their defensive record makes for even better reading; just 0.92 goals conceded in home fixtures betters an expected goal against (xGA) tally of 1.16. Frankfurt have also managed clean sheets in 38% of home fixtures, and have conceded two or more in 23%.
The away side head into the fixture following a 2-0 home defeat to Wolfsburg, and have lost their last three away games in the Bundesliga. Werder Bremen's overall form on the road this season has been poor, with Ole Werner's side averaging just 0.92 points per game in away fixtures so far.
While their 1.08 goals scored isn't awful, Bremen have struggled in defensive columns. A worrying average of 1.62 goals conceded has meant only 23% of their away fixtures have ended with a clean sheet. They've also conceded two or more goals in 54% of matches on the road.
Bremen do boast a healthy goalscoring record on their travels, though, scoring two or more in 31% of away fixtures. They are yet to score three goals on the road this season, however.
Frankfurt are clearly the better side of the two and remain the sensible pick on the moneyline. Not only do they sit eleven points above their opponents on Friday, but have outperformed Bremen in both offensive and defensive metrics.
The away side also come into the game with little left to play for in the Bundesliga; they sit a comfortable ten points above the relegation play-off spot, but are eleven points off Frankfurt in the Europa Conference League qualification spot. Such little motivation could lead to a lax in performance, further boosting the chances of a Frankfurt victory in this one.
