Derby take on Portsmouth in the first of the weekend's Championship matches live on Sky on Friday evening.

Our tipster Adam Drury (@Adam_Drury1) has put together a bet builder for the match, which you can back at 25/1 with Bet365.

Adam Drury's Derby vs Portsmouth bet-builder selections

Selection #1 - Under 2.5 goals scored

Derby matches are rarely open affairs, with under 2.5 goals landing in 11 of their last 16 Championship outings.

Paul Warne's side have scored more than once in only one of their last 11, while they rank down in 19th for xG across the division.

Portsmouth sit 21st for that metric and are unlikely to cut loose at Pride Park.

Pompey drew 0-0 with Norwich in a dour affair last time out and have seen this goal line beaten in just one of their last four on the road.

Selection #2 - Jerry Yates to have over 1.5+ shots

When Derby do threaten, Jerry Yates is likely to be at the heart of their efforts.

Yates has grown into life with the Rams since signing on loan from Swansea in the summer, recently scoring in three straight matches in November.

He has fired off at least two shots in three of his last five games overall, including four against Plymouth and three against Sheffield Wednesday in Derby's last two at home.

We'll let him off his blank at Leeds last week as so few opposition strikers get a sniff there, but he did follow up with two more efforts on goal at Burnley on Tuesday.

Selection #3 - Ebou Adams to be carded

Having served a ban at Leeds last week after picking up five yellow cards, Ebou Adams returned to form by committing four fouls at Burnley on Tuesday.

The midfielder is a key player for Derby but keeps officials busy too, ranking second in the division for fouls per game (2.1).

He has been penalised by the referee at least twice in nine of his last 10 games and that is reflected in his bookings tally.

Adams has collected three yellows in his last seven matches and backing another looks a smart way to boost our Bet Builder price.

Selection #4 - Marlon Pack to be carded

Pack does not sit too far behind Adams in terms of fouls, his 1.7 per game placing him ninth in the division.

Despite having only collected three bookings so far this season, most recently in Pompey's last away game at Swansea, he is surely set for more if he keeps up that form.

Picking another foul-heavy player to pick up a yellow is our best way to get the odds up to 25/1.
