Manchester United look to build on their FA cup momentum as they travel to face Brentford on Saturday evening.
Brentford are looking to end a six-game winless run with their most recent outing being a 2-1 loss to Burnley at Turf Moor, while the away side ousted rivals Liverpool in a 4-3 thriller prior to the international break.
Thomas Frank's side were minutes away from a historic victory at Old Trafford earlier this season before a Scott McTominay double secured a last-gasp victory for United in the reverse fixture. Kick-off is set for 8pm UK time at the Gtech Community Stadium.
Brentford are only five points above the relegation zone in 15th. They have lost 14 of their last 18 Premier League games, which is the most by any side during this spell.
Brentford have created more opportunities at home this campaign though, averaging an expected goal (xG) tally of 1.45 compared to only 1.29 on the road. They have also scored more goals than their opponents this weekend, averaging 1.41 per game compared to United's 1.39.
The Bees' defensive performance has been concerning to say the least, though. Across 14 home matches, they've conceded an average of 2.07 goals per match, which is far above their expected goals against (xGA) tally of 1.56. They've also registered clean sheets in just 7% of home matches.
Brentford do tend to find the net on home turf, though, failing to score in just 7% of their matches there this campaign. The Gtech has seen plenty of goals in general, averaging a total of 3.79 in league matches played there so far.
Ivan Toney's penalty made him the first @BrentfordFC player ever to score for @England! ☝️

United come into the game sitting sixth in the Premier League and have won five of their last seven in all competitions. Their most recent league outing saw a 2-0 home victory over Everton.
Erik Ten Hag's side have suffered mixed form on the road so far, winning just 50% of their away matches. They've scored first in 64% of those encounters, but have kept clean sheets in just 29%. The away side have also failed to register a clean sheet in their last five away outings.
United have averaged 1.29 goals per away game, compared to 1.5 at home, and have scored two or more in 36% so far. United have scored three or more in just 14% of their away matches.
Brentford have fared better on home soil than in their away games this season but have still won just once in their last five outings at the Gtech. Though United have certainly rode their luck in recent matches, OddsNow expect the away side's added quality to shine through and compound Brentford's woes on Saturday evening.
