Atletico Madrid hope to protect their place in the top four when they welcome Celta Vigo on Sunday.

The hosts have won four of their last five on La Liga. Kick-off is set for 3:15pm UK time at Estadio Cívitas Metropolitano.

Diego Simeone's side have won 15 of their 17 home fixtures so far in La Liga. The only loss came in a 3-0 defeat to Barcelona in March, but Atletico have since rebounded with two home wins on the bounce in the Spanish capital. Their 1-0 win at Mallorca last time out was their tenth clean sheet of the season, with only champions Real Madrid conceding less goals out of the current top four

Atletico have also scored the third-highest amount of goals at home in La Liga with 40 goals, averaging 2.35 per game. On only one occasion have they failed to find the net on home turf, and on eight they've scored three times or more. Simeone's men also recorded a 3-0 away win at Celta Vigo back in October.

Celta Vigo

The visitors have been riddled with inconsistency in recent weeks, with two wins, a draw and two losses in their last five. Only four teams have a worse away record than Claudio Giráldez' side, who have lost their last two on the road.

Conceding goals has been a huge problem for them all season, particularly on their travels. 32 of the 52 goals they've shipped have came in away fixtures, where they've only managed three clean sheets so far. Celta have also shipped six in their last three on the road.

A meagre 1.35 goals scored away from home hasn't been enough to plug the gap left by their leaky defence, and it's little wonder they find themselves 15th in the Spanish top-flight

Prediction

Given Atletico's attacking output and Celta's inability to keep opposition out, it's hard not to see the home side adding to their goals tally in this one. The visitors have managed just one clean sheet in their last seven, and OddsNow expect them to concede more again this weekend.
