The 57kg division is wide open with several contenders in with a shout to claim gold at Paris 2024.
Odds Now have delved into the betting markets to run you through the major players at featherweight in the French capital.
Italy's Irma Testa has gone from strength to strength since claiming bronze in Tokyo three years ago.
The 26-year-old first secured a silver medal in the final of the 2022 World Championships, losing a narrow split-decision to Yu-Ting Lin.
Nevertheless, Testa rebounded to claim gold at the European Championships five months later, adding to the gold she claimed in the 2019 iteration of the tournament.
Testa wasn't finished there, though. She returned to the world stage in 2023, where she went one better than the previous year to become featherweight world champion in New Dehli.
The Italian's momentum, which also saw her win bronze at the European Games at the back end of last year, has seen her head into Paris 2024 a narrow favourite to finish in top spot this summer.
The aforementioned Yu-Ting Lin is a close second favourite to win gold in the French capital.
Lin previously competed at the Tokyo Games three years ago, but was eliminated early in the competition. Her amateur resume speaks for itself though, and has improved further since her defeat in Japan in 2021.
Having already captured gold medals at two World Championships, an Asian Games and an Asian Championships, the 28-year-old's momentum was somewhat scuppered at the 2023 Worlds in New Dehli.
Lin had initially won bronze after a split-decision loss to Karina Ibragimova in the semi-final, but the Taiwanese native was later disqualified for failing a post-fight gender test.
Nevertheless, Lin bounced back at the end of the year to win gold at the Asian Games in Hangzhou. She beat Ibragimova in the final via unanimous-decision in the final, avenging her prior defeat at the World Championships in the process.
Bulgarian featherweight Svetlana Staneva is hot on the heels of both Testa and Lin at 57kg.
The 34-year-old also boasts an impressive medal haul, having won silver at the 2023 European Games. She was also awarded bronze at the 2023 World Championships following the aforementioned Lin's failed blood test post-fight.
The Taiwanese boxer had initially edged a split-decision but the bout was later ruled a No Contest, with the medal subsequently awarded to the Bulgarian.
Her most impressive feat occurred in April this year though, when she won gold at the European Championships after previously winning silver twice in previous iterations.
Staneva also boasts a winning record over gold medal favourite Testa, winning three out of the five times the pair have met in a ring. Their most recent meeting came in June last year, where Staneva won by split-decision in the semi-final of the European Games.
Kazakhstan featherweight Karina Ibragimova is a firm outsider heading into Paris 2024, but still boasts an impressive medal haul in the vested code.
The 28-year-old most recently won silver at the 2023 World Championships - losing a unanimous decision to her rival Testa in the final.
Ibragimova also suffered defeat against Yu-Ting Lin in the final of the Asian Games in October.
Nevertheless, she did win gold at the 2022 Asian Championships and had won her two meetings with Lin prior to their clash in Hangzhou last year.
Top spot on the podium seems unlikely for Ibragimova, but a medal is certainly realistic prospect given how the openness of the 57kg division.
