Cuban star Julio Cesar La Cruz is chasing his third Olympic gold medal when he travels to Paris 2024.
Odds Now have taken a close looking at the betting markets to give you insight into the key players to watch in the 92kg division.
Cuban heavyweight Julio Cesar La Cruz remains one of the most decorated fighters competing at Paris 2024.
La Cruz has already won two Olympic gold medals - the first coming at Rio in 2016 at light-heavyweight, before he stepped up to heavyweight to secure top spot in Tokyo five years later.
His remarkable amateur career has also seen him collect a whopping five World Championship gold medals. Four came at 80kg between 2011 and 2019 before the Cuban stepped up to 92kg, where he ruled as world champion between 2021-23.
It is therefore unsurprising to see La Cruz enter a firm favourite to secure a third gold medal in the French capital this summer.
The only slight concern may be his age; he is now 34 heading into the Games, but has shown no signs of slowing down. Cruz most recently won gold at the 2023 Pan American Games.
2021 and 2023 World Championship runner-up Aziz Abbes Mouhiidine comes in as second favourite to win gold in Paris.
The Italian suffered narrow defeats in both finals - including a majority-decision loss to the aforementioned La Cruz in 2021.
A split-decision loss to Muslim Gadzhimagomedov in Tashkent, Uzbekistan saw Mouhiidine pickup his second silver medal at the Worlds in May last year, though the 25-year-old claimed gold at the European Games two months later.
Mouhiidine was also crowned European champion in 2022 but his amateur pedigree pales in comparison to that of his Cuban counterpart La Cruz, hence the disparity in odds heading into Paris 2024.
Uzbekistan heavyweight Lazizbek Mullojonov has built on his impressive amateur career by entering the professional ranks.
The 25-year-old made his pro debut back in January 2021 and has fought in the paid ranks four times since, winning all four inside the distance.
His most recent pro bout came in August last year, but Mullojonov's attention has turned back to his amateur exploits ahead of Paris 2024.
The Uzbek claimed bronze at the 2023 World Championships in his native country, beating Olympic favourite La Cruz in the process.
Mullojonov boasts gold medals from the Asian Championships and World Military Championships from 2022 and 2021 respectively.
He secured a place at the Summer Games at the First Qualification Tournament in Italy earlier this year.
Originally born in Cuba, Loren Alfonso represents Azerbaijan on the amateur boxing stage.
The 29-year-old already has experience competing at an Olympics, winning bronze in Tokyo three years ago.
Alfonso also won gold at the 2021 World Championships before picking up silver in the same competition two years later, though he competed at cruiserweight for both of these.
He has most recently added another medal to his collection, this time picking up bronze at the European Championships earlier this year in Belgrade.
Alfonso secured a place at Paris 2024 via the Second World Qualification Tournament in Bangkok, Thailand back in May.
