The feature race on day three at Cheltenham 2025 is the Stayers Hurdle at 4:00pm, where Teahupoo looks to retain his title.
Also on the card is an intriguing Ryanair Chase, where we see Fact To File head up the market after switching to here from the Gold Cup.
Let’s get into it!
Galileo Dame was a real eyecatcher under a change of tactics when finishing second behind Hello Neighbour, who is now third favourite for Friday’s Triumph Hurdle.
She was fancied by some for the Triumph herself, but connections chose here and as a four-year-old she gets 10 pounds allowance from the field in this race.
Hopefully she can go well and continue a good week for Joseph O’Brien.
Pic Roc finished second on his last two runs, including a runner-up effort in January at Exeter where he was very well fancied for that race.
He built on that effort next time out when trying today’s trip at Newbury, making a mess of the last when running a good second.
Up two pounds for that showing, he looks set to go close for the bang in-form duo Ben Jones and Ben Pauling.
Feet Of A Dancer ran well to finish third in her first two starts this season, which were both listed mares hurdles.
She finished third again on her most recent run, where it was her first attempt at the 3-mile trip. Now back in handicap company, she is 7lbs better off with that winner, Win Some Lose Some, here today.
I think she will run very well and rates as a good each way bet.
Fact To File is a horse that many hoped would take his chance in the Gold Cup, however he comes here instead. I think some of his best form is over this trip so the decision makes sense to me.
Il Est Francais is of course going to make it a test, but I have been a fan of this lad for some time and Fact To File wont let him get too far away.
Expect to see him finish strongly up the hill to get the win here.
Teahupoo is a horse who has looked miles clear of the rest in this divison all season. I suppose the only real question mark he does have is the ground — ideally, he wants soft/heavy.
Good to soft ground, however, is quite similar to what he faced at the Punchestown Festival, where he still won by 6 ½ lengths in a decisive victory.
He keeps drifting and the more he drifts, the more he becomes a bet for me. So, rather than take a current price, I’m happy to chance the official starting price.
Masaccio is the one in here for me.
He ran a great race to finish just two lengths behind The Jukebox Man in November, then went up to 3 miles, which didn’t see him to the best effect.
Last seen when third at this track behind the favourite for today, Jagwar, he is now 6lbs better off today with that rival.
Add in the fact that first time cheekpieces are applied and think can run well.
Git Maker finished a great second in this race last year behind third in the market for tomorrow’s Gold Cup, Inothewayurthinking.
That horse is now rated 160 and the current Grand National favourite on that mark. Git Maker, meanwhile, is on the same mark as when running that great race last year and won’t have to worry about such opposition this time around. Cheekpieces go on here and I think he will run well at a chunky price.
