Borussia Dortmund look to cement their place in the Bundesliga top four as they travel to the Weserstadion to take on SV Werder Bremen on Saturday evening.
Viewers in the UK can watch the game via Sky Sports Arena at 5:30pm on Saturday.
Ole Werner’s Bremen have rocketed themselves into European contention since the the winter break, recording four wins in eight games, including a shock 1-0 win at Bayern Munich at the end of January. However, a 1-1 draw at home to rock-bottom Darmstadt, followed by a 2-1 loss at 10-man Hoffenheim has hindered their progress. The results leave them in 8th, seven points behind Eintracht Frankfurt in 6th .
Dortmund have also found form post-Christmas to reclaim a place in the coveted Champions League spots ahead of RB Leipzig, with five wins from eight seeing them leapfrog into fourth. Last week’s victory at Union Berlin snapped a three-game winless streak for Der BVB, keeping them a point ahead of Leipzig, while also earning their first away win in the league since January.
Bremen centre-backs Milos Veljkovic and Niklas Stark could be in contention for a return to the side this weekend after being sidelined in recent weeks through knee and hip injuries respectively. Die Werderaner, however, are set to be without Amos Pieper (broken ankle), Marco Friedl (ligament tear) and Isak Hansen-Aarøen (torn muscle fiber) through injury. Olivier Deman is also suspended after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season last time out against Hoffenheim.
Dortmund are set to bring back forward Donyell Malen to the starting XI after missing their 2-0 victory at Union Berlin through suspension. Sebastien Haller and Gregor Kobel are set to miss the trip to Bremen with ankle and muscle problems respectively, while Felix Nmecha and Samuel Bamba are also doubts for the game.
Dortmund, unsurprisingly, are massive favourites going into this clash, with Edin Terzic’s side priced at 10/11 by Coral to take all three points, giving an implied probability of 52.4%.
BETMGM and BetUK offer odds of 3/1 for a Bremen victory, with an implied probability of 25%, while Bet365 and 888Sport are offering odds of 10/3 for a draw, with an implied probability of 23.1%.
With a daunting fixture pile up coming up for the visitors, which includes playing the entire top six in five of their next six league outings, Dortmund can ill-afford to drop points at the Weserstadion, and OddsNow back Terzic’s men to get the job done ahead of the visit of PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League.
