Paris Saint-Germain welcome Swedish outfit BK Häcken in the UEFA Women’s Champions League quarter-final second leg on Thursday, with the hosts holding a 2-1 advantage. Kick-off at the Parc des Princes is 8pm UK time.
Tabitha Chawinga’s 74th minute winner last Wednesday put the French giants in the driving seat. Eva Gaetino had given them a first-half lead, only for Rusul Rosa Kafaji to level for the Swedes just before half-time, stooping to head her fourth goal of the campaign after her penalty had been kept out well by Katarzyna Kiedrzynek.
PSG have won all three previous meetings between the sides, including a 4-1 aggregate win in the 2022/23 second round.
PSG are on a 21-match unbeaten streak in all competitions since their Matchday 2 group stage defeat to Bayern Munich back in November. Jocelyn Precheur’s side played much of a keenly contested first leg on the front foot, registering an expected goal (xG) tally of 1.95 compared to Häcken’s 1.21.
Paris recovered from losing their first two Champions League games to finish atop Group C on ten points. After their 1-0 setback to the German champions at Stade Jean Bouin, the French side defeated Roma and Ajax at the much larger Parc des Princes.
PSG lie second in Feminine Division 1 behind eight-time European champions Lyon, whose 1-0 win in October was the only time PSG have dropped points in nine home league matches this term. They have conceded just nine goals in 14 home fixtures across all competitions - although they have let in a goal in all four European games on home soil. PSG have scored two and conceded one per home game in Europe this season; their xG is 1.45, with an expected goals against (xGA) of 1.08.

Häcken’s away return in Europe this season has been superb. Despite some rearguard performances, they have collected three wins and a draw. They finished second in Group D, taking eleven points off table-toppers Chelsea, Real Madrid and PSG’s city neighbours Paris FC. Head coach Mak Lind’s side have already matched their previous best performance in the competition, reaching the quarter-finals for the first time in eleven years (when they played as Gothenburg).
Although the Swedish league season does not get underway until April, the Wasps have played three domestic cup matches this month - all won comfortably - as well as the first leg in Gothenburg.
Häcken have scored 1.25 and conceded 0.5 goals per CL away game; their xG is 1.14 and xGA 1.73. The 21 goals scored across the Swedish side’s nine fixtures averages 2.33 goals per match, comfortably the lowest of any team to have played more than one tie.
PSG Women are heavily fancied for the win (1/4 with bet365), but there is little to be gained in taking a home win moneyline bet.
Given PSG’s first leg advantage and the combination of their defensive solidity at home and Häcken’s stubbornness on the road, Odds Now expect a low-scoring affair in the French capital on Thursday.
