West Ham secured a fourth top-half finish in five seasons in 2023/24, but how will the Hammers fare under new manager Julen Lopetegui?
Check out our full season preview to find the best value ahead of the new campaign.
West Ham significantly improved on their league position from the previous year but the second half of the season proved a real struggle. The Hammers won just four matches after January, a run which culminated in manager David Moyes departing the club at the end of the 2023/24 season.
Conceding goals was a major issue, with only three other sides shipping more than West Ham's 74.
The form of forward Jarrod Bowen was a positive, though. The Englishman ended with 20 goals and 10 assists to his name. Ghana attacking midfielder Mohammed Kudus also shone in his debut season for the Hammers, bagging 14 goals and 6 assists across all competitions.

Jim Munro (@JimMunro): As we moved into 2024, ‘Champions of Europe’ West Ham sat sixth in the Premier League, just four points behind Manchester City.
During a glittering December the Irons had won at Tottenham, downed Manchester United at the London Stadium and turned over Declan Rice’s Arsenal 2-0 at the Emirates.
The wheels fell off in the new year though with just five wins from 25 games in all competitions contributing towards a subsequently disappointing ninth-place finish in the Premier League.
The club said thanks and goodbye to David Moyes and handed the keys of the kingdom to former Real Madrid and Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui.
Although there have been off-field protests about the scrapping of concession tickets at the London Stadium, there has been considerable optimism surrounding West Ham’s on-field chances generated by some eye-catching additions to Lopetegui’s squad.
Germany’s Niclas Fullkrug is perhaps the beast who can fill Michail Antonio’s shoes, Crysencio Summerville was Championship player of the season at Leeds and World Cup winner Guido Rodriguez should have been lining up for Barcelona, but West Ham stepped in when his free transfer fell through.
Add in Wolves captain Max Kilman and potentially more signings before the transfer window is done and there is real hope that West Ham can rejoin the scrap for a place in Europe once again.
Thursday nights won’t be the same after three successive seasons of European competition at the Bowl, but the reduced fixture demands this term should give the team the breathing space to compete strongly in that cluster of clubs just outside of the Champions League places.
The Hammers have been active in the transfer market but eyes will largely be on the exit door as opposed to who else might join Lopetegui's band of merry men between now and the end of the window.
Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus were shining lights in a faltering West Ham side last season and the London Stadium faithful will be desperate to retain their services for at least another season. One positive (sort of) is that Brazil playmaker Lucas Paqueta will almost certainly remain in Hammers colours due to an investigation into alleged irregular betting activity.
Former Wolves defender Max Kilman has come in to help address the leaky defence which saw West Ham ship 74 goals last year. Argentina's World Cup winner Guido Rodriguez also hopes to plug what was a vacant Hammers midfield in 2023-24, while the signings of Niclas Fullkrug and Crysencio Summerville bolster an already entertaining Hammers attack.
Lopetegui will have plenty of time on the training pitch due to the absence of European football, all of which should see the Londoners manage a comfortable mid-table finish in the Spaniard's maiden season in charge.
