We are three matchdays down in the 2024-25 Premier League season and already, we've seen plenty of movement in the betting markets.

Here, we take a look at five movers and shakers as the campaign reaches its first international break.

The good

Manchester City

Having been described as vulnerable in this year's Premier League title race by many pundits just three weeks ago, City are already making such claims look a bit silly.

Pep Guardiola's men have been backed from 6/4 into 11/10 to make it five straight titles next May after a perfect start, which saw them sweep aside Chelsea, blitz Ipswich and bulldoze past West Ham.

Norwegian goal machine Erling Haaland has picked up where he left off last term. His quest for a third straight Golden Boot is looking inevitable after seven goals in three games, including consecutive hat-tricks, left him a best price of 2/5 to be top scorer once again with 35 games still to play.

Liverpool

Another team who have seen plenty of market support after their opening three games has been Liverpool, who have made an excellent start under new head coach Arne Slot.

The Reds' successive solid wins over Ipswich and Brentford were backed up by an outstanding performance at Old Trafford on Sunday, where old foes Manchester United were humiliated 3-0 — leaving the Merseysiders heading into the international break joint-top.

As a result, Slot's men are into a best price of 9/2 for the title, having been as big as 7/1 at the big kick-off. Meanwhile, they are now no bigger than 2/7 for a top-four finish.

The mercurial Mo Salah has stayed put at Anfield despite a summer of speculation and is now 3/1 to finish as the division's top scorer in the "without Erling Haaland" market, which looks a generous price indeed.

Brighton

Another side who have hit the ground running under a new manager are Brighton

Any concerns over the youth of Fabian Hurzeler - who, in case you haven't heard, is the youngest ever permanent manager in the Premier League's history - have been quelled.

The Seagulls have taken a mighty seven points from their first three games under the German, including a 2-1 home win over Manchester United and a 1-1 draw at title-chasing Arsenal on Saturday.

A difficult second half of 2023-24 saw Brighton come in at 6/1 to secure a top-six finish at the season's offset but their impressive form under Hurzeler has seen them shorten to 9/4 at the time of writing.

The bad

Manchester United

Not much appears to have changed at Old Trafford over the summer following Manchester United's 3-0 home drubbing to bitter rivals Liverpool at the weekend.

Erik Ten Hag's side have taken just three points from a possible nine and now come in at 5/1 to secure a place in the top four, despite initially sitting at 2/1 before the season kicked-off.

The Dutchman is also joint-favourite to be the next manager to leave their post in the Premier League, coming in at 3/1 after United suffered back-to-back losses in their last two league outings.

Ten Hag's frosty exchanges with reporters in the aftermath of the Liverpool loss will do little to calm any concerns regarding the tension which appears to be building at Old Trafford, particularly given how close he was to losing his job at the start of the summer.

Everton

The Toffees' final season at Goodison Park couldn't have gotten off to a worse start.

A 3-0 home defeat to Brighton on the opening weekend was followed by a 4-0 hammering at Tottenham Hotspur on matchday two.

Their toughest pill to swallow came in their most recent outing though, when Everton surrendered a 2-0 lead with three minutes to go to, somehow, end up on the losing side at home to Bournemouth.

The run of form has left them at 13/8 to be relegated come May after initially coming in at 5/2 at the start of the campaign. Manager Sean Dyche also comes in at 3/1 to be the first managerial casualty of the season after a dismal start to 2024-25.
