We're back for yet another Nations League accumulator with hopes of winning the matchball following winning predictions in both Sunday and Monday's fixtures.

The international break is almost over - finally - and so let's look to end on a high as I tackle my final Nations League prediction before we return to do it all over again in October (sigh).

Brad Walker's best Nations League bets for Tuesday, September 10th, 2024

North Macedonia to beat Armenia (Evens) - 1 pt

Czech Republic to beat Ukraine (27/20) - 1 pt

Hungary to beat Bosnia & Herzegovina (4/6) - 2 pts

North Macedonia, Czech Republic & Hungary treble @ 6.52/1 - 0.5 pts

TOTAL POINTS STAKED: 4.5 pts

Nations League 2024-25 P/L: +2.5 pts

Selection #1 - North Macedonia to beat Armenia (Evens)

North Macedonia's 1-1 draw with the Faroe Islands ended a three-match losing run for Blagoja Milevski's side. The match was also their fourth consecutive game on away soil - they have not played on home turf since a 1-1 draw against Moldova back in March.

Their recent results at home perhaps explain why they come in slight favourites at even money. Across their last seven home matches, North Macedonia have lost on just one occasion - 3-2 to Ukraine during Euro 2024 qualifying. Milveski's men have also taken points off big-hitters England and Italy during that period.

Compare that to the form of Armenia. Oleksandr Petrakov's side may have picked up a 4-1 home to win over Latvia at the weekend, but their form on the road has been abysmal in recent times.

Armenia have lost five away matches on the spin and have not won away from home since their 4-2 upset victory over a struggling Wales side in June last year. In fact, that win in Cardiff remains their only victory in 19 away outings, making for stark reading ahead of the contest at the Todor Proeski National Arena.

Selection #2 - Czech Republic to beat Ukraine (27/20)

A 4-1 away defeat to Georgia is the latest development in a pretty miserable second half of 2024 for the Czech Republic. Ivan Hasek's side are now without a win in their last four after a failure to pickup a single victory during the Euro 2024 group stage.

The Czechians will be grateful for a return to home soil on Tuesday - they've not played in their home country since June - and will at least take some confidence of their recent record in front of their own fans.

Hasek's men have tasted defeat on just one occasion in their last 16 home matches - the only blemish being a 4-0 loss to Portugal back in September 2022. They have won seven of their subsequent eight home fixtures since - a run they will be eager to continue in order to return to winning ways in Prague.

The poor form of Ukraine will also boost their confidence. Serhiy Rebrov's side were upset by an unfancied Albania side last time out, making it three defeats from their last six in all competitions.

The loss of star striker Artem Dovbyk to injury is hardly ideal. Despite his underwhelming performances at the Euros, the Girona frontman remains their main goalscoring threat.

All-in-all, defeat for either of these sides would continue an already barren run of form as we head into the calendar year's final quarter. I'm not exactly convinced by either team and neither are the bookmakers, with the odds well spread on the outright market.

The Czech Republic do come in narrow favourites at 27/20, though, and I think that's a fair price given their impressive form at home. Ukraine may still be nursing a hangover from their disappointing exit at the Euros and will also feel Dovbyk's absence. With all this in mind, I'm backing Hasek's men for the home victory here.

Selection #3 - Hungary to beat Bosnia & Herzegovina (4/6)

Perhaps the most straight-forward selection - at least on paper - takes place at the Puskas Arena. Hosts Hungary take on an unfancied Bosnia and Herzegovina in a match which will conclude both sides' international break before the resumption of the club football calendar.

They both come into the game having taken a bit of a shellacking in their most recent outings. Hungary came up short in a 5-0 battering away at Germany, while Bosnia also shipped five en route to a 5-2 defeat to the Dutch. Not exactly a perfect start to the new Nations League campaign.

Nevertheless, the home side should still have too much for their Bosnian counterparts here. Sure, Hungary's 1-0 victory over Scotland in their final match at the Euros is their only win in four. They're hardly in stellar form, but Marco Rossi's side have been operating at a much higher level in recent times.

The Hungarians have also shone in recent Nations League campaigns. They finished above both Germany and England in the 2022-23 iteration of the tournament, taking maximum points across their four matches with the continent's big-hitters.

Meanwhile, Bosnia have lost seven in a row and eight of their last 10. The two wins also came against minnows Liechtenstein, who currently sit 199th in the FIFA World Rankings.

Having said all of that, you can probably guess which direction I'm heading in for this one. Hungary's capitulation against Germany was hardly convincing at the weekend but even a poor showing should see them emerge victorious against a woeful Bosnia outfit on Tuesday. Anything other than a win would surely raise eyebrows in Budapest.
