Manchester City vs Liverpool: 8/5 and 16/1 Premier League betting tips

Manchester City host Liverpool in the latest edition of arguably the Premier League's biggest rivalry of the last decade.

Adam Drury is on hand to pick out 8/5 and 16/1 bets for a game that, though not necessarily a title decider on this occasion, will have huge ramifications for Liverpool's hopes of lifting the trophy.

Josko Gvardiol to take 1+ shot

Gvardiol has had at least one shot in 18 of his 24 Premier League appearances, as well as taking three across the Champions League play-off tie with Real Madrid.

Having fired off efforts in all three of his matches against top-four opposition this term, he is a simple inclusion to manage one more here. 

The Croatian has been benched for all three league appearances against Liverpool since signing for City but that is unlikely to happen again considering the injuries in Pep Guardiola's backline.

Trent Alexander-Arnold to take 1+ shot

Alexander-Arnold has also been shooting regularly from full-back, having at least one effort in 10 of his last 11 matches.

He has managed more than one in six of those games and found the net in Liverpool's 2-2 draw at Villa Park on Wednesday.

Having had three goes at goal in the reverse fixture in December, along with bagging at the Etihad last term, this looks a solid bet.

Nico Gonzalez to be carded

It was clear in City's demolition of Newcastle last weekend what a difference Gonzalez is going to make to their midfield.

A big part of the reason for that is that he is by far their most athletic midfielder, meaning he is the one tasked with covering ground and making challenges.

As he proved in getting booked against Real Madrid on Wednesday night, that means he is also going to be a decent bet for a card moving forward.

He made three tackles against the Magpies and two against Real, and that willingness to engage could work against him when he faces such a top-class outfit in Liverpool.

Mohamed Salah to score

Considering he has scored 29 goals this season and netted in his last seven matches, it's not hard to include Salah. 

And when you consider that he is priced at odds-against with bet365 (7/5), he becomes a shoo-in for any Bet Builder combinations.

The Egyptian netted against Man City earlier this season and has scored against Guardiola's side in seven of his last 10 league meetings with them.
