Huddersfield Town host high flying Leeds United in an enticing West Yorkshire Derby on Saturday lunchtime, in a match that affects both ends of the Championship
table.

With just 15 miles separating the two clubs, the fixture has a long and famous history, but this latest edition takes on extra significance with both teams in desperate need of the points.

How to Watch Huddersfield vs Leeds in the UK:

Viewers can watch the Yorkshire Derby live on Sky Sports with coverage set to begin at 12pm UK time on Saturday. Kick-off is set for 12:30pm at the John Smith's Stadium.

Team News:

Huddersfield are likely to still be without talismanic defender Michal Helik, who scored Town’s consolation in the reverse fixture. Saturday may come too early for Rhys Healey, who nears his return from injury. Josh Ruffels will not feature again this season, while on loan Dutch striker Delano Burgzorg hopes to shake off a knock picked up against Watford.

Leeds boss Daniel Farke revealed a few injury concerns in his FA Cup press conference. Georginio Rutter has a problem with his hip flexor and wasn’t involved at Stamford Bridge. Patrick Bamford was an unused substitute as he nurses a slight injury problem.

Top scorer Crysensio Summerville rolled an ankle against Leicester, but came on in the latter stages on Wednesday. On loan fullback Conor Roberts could be in line to start after his goal off the bench last week.

Recent Form:

Huddersfield head into the game in buoyant mood after a fine away victory against Watford at Vicarage Road last week, in new head coach Andre Breitenreiter’s first game on the touchline. Results elsewhere mean that the Terriers remain just two points above the relegation zone in what is shaping up to be a nail biting battle for survival in the Championship.

Recent home wins against Sheffield Wednesday and Sunderland provide optimism. Defensive resilience was a key factor in these successes and more will be needed to thwart the Leeds juggernaut this weekend.

The away side make the short trip to the John Smith’s Stadium looking to record their tenth straight league win, as they seek to consolidate their position in the automatic promotion places. Their comeback victory against Championship leaders Leicester last weekend even has Daniel Farke’s men dreaming of a potential assault on the title.

Leeds were however beaten by a late Conor Gallagher winner which saw them bow out of the FA Cup at the hands of Chelsea in midweek.

Betting Odds:

The home side head into the match as underdog, with William Hill offering Huddersfield to win at 11/2 on the moneyline (implied probability of 15.38%).

Leeds meanwhile are backed to continue their assault on the Championship title, coming in at 4/7 with PaddyPower (implied probability of 63.64%).

Prediction:

Leeds appear unstoppable right now, but they are unlikely to have it all their own way at the John Smith’s on Saturday, with Huddersfield hoping the new manager bounce continues.

The Terriers will surely make life difficult for the leagues form team, in a fixture that has a recent history of frayed passions and tempers spilling over. Not least in the 2017 meeting, which saw a mass brawl result in red cards to then managers David Wagner and Garry Monk.

Despite this, The Whites can’t stop scoring, with goals coming from all over the pitch. OddsNow expect this to continue this week, as Leeds continue their pursuit of an immediate return to the Premier League.

OddsNow's Pick: Huddersfield Town 1-3 Leeds United (11/1 @ BetMGM)
