The Colorado Rapids host mid-table rivals Houston Dynamo at DSG Park as both sides look to break into the top six of the MLS' Western Conference.

Kick-off is set for 1:30am UK time.

Recent Form

Colorado Rapids

The home side have collected five points from their opening four matches so far this season, leaving them seventh in the Western Conference. Colorado have only played one match on home soil though; a 1-1 draw with Nashville SC at the start of the month. Their other three matches have been on the road, where they've conceded six goals and scored only three. Four of those six came in a 4-1 loss to Portland Timbers on the opening day of the season.

Overall, Robin Fraser's side have averaged 1.25 goals per game, falling slightly below their expected goal (xG) tally of 1.53. There is a cause for concern in defensive columns for the Rapids, though; despite averaging an expected goal against (xGA) tally of 1.09, they've shipped 1.75 goals per game so far, primarily due to the heavy defeat in Portland.

Colorado games have certainly made for an entertaining watch, having averaged three goals in the opening weeks. They've also both scored and conceded in every league game played so far this season.

Houston Dynamo

Remarkably, Houston will be playing on away soil for the first time this season when they head to DSG Park. All three of their league games have been on home turf, where they've averaged 1.33 points (W1, D1, L1). Dynamo have both scored and conceded three goals, and head into the game in ninth, one point off this weekend's opponents.

They are matching their xG tally of 1.04 with an average one goal per game so far, and are excelling in defensive quarters, averaging a 0.89 xGA in their opening three matches.

Ben Olsen's side have managed a single clean sheet so far this campaign, with their matches averaging a total of two goals.

Prediction

It's always difficult to predict a result on the basis of early-season form, particularly when one of the sides have played all of their matches at home. The Rapids have been solid going forward but are leaking goals at the other end, while Dynamo's record also suggests more goals could be in store at DSG Park.

Colorado will be relieved to be back on home soil after spending the majority of their time on the road, and should edge this one in an entertaining affair for the neutral.

OddsNow's Picks: Colorado Rapids to win (6/5 @ UNIBET); Over 2.75 goals (6/5 @ LiveScoreBet)
