A battle between second and third takes place in Ligue 1 when Brest and AS Monaco collide on Sunday afternoon.

Kick-off is set for 4:05pm UK time at Stade Francis Le Ble.

Recent Form

Brest

Brest have been the shock of the season, as they find themselves in second place on 53 points (W15 D8 L6), a whole 12 positions and nine points better off than last season. However, they come into Sunday's match with only two wins in their last five, with their last outing being a 4-3 loss to Lyon.

Their home form has been key this term as they have collected 29 of their 53 points at home (W8 D5 L1). 24 of their 44 goals scored have also came on home soil, where they've averaged an impressive expected goals (xG) tally of 1.76 so far. Brest have failed to score in just two games at home this season.

They have also only conceded 27 goals in total, compared to the 54 they shipped across the whole of the last campaign. Only 14 goals have been conceded in home fixtures, where they've averaged an expected goals against (xGA) tally of 1.11. This has enabled them to collect 13 clean sheets, eight of which have came at home.

Monaco

Monaco come into Sunday’s clash in third position on 52 points (W15 D7 L6), one point behind their host. They go to Brest on a six match unbeaten run, most recently securing a 1-0 win over Rennes.

Away from home, Monaco have been strong this campaign, collecting 28 points (W8 D4 L2). Only Paris Saint-Germain have secured more points on the road at 34.

Adi Hutter’s men have been expansive this season, with 53 goals being scored while averaging an xG of 1.72. They have scored in all but two away games this season, totalling 32 goals on the road.

Monaco have shipped more goals than their hosts with 38 goals conceded, at an average of 1.36 per game. 25 of these goals have come on the road, where they've averaged an xGA of 1.55.

Prediction

Brest have been superb this season but their form has wobbled as of late. This compares with a Monaco side who haven't lost in six and boast the second-highest scoring record in Ligue 1. OddsNow back the away side to continue their impressive scoring form with more goals on the road this weekend.

OddsNow's Pick: Over 1.5+ total away goals (13/10 @ 888sport)
