The Premier League action returns on Boxing Day as one of the steeple's of the annual football calendar. 

With so much to play for at both ends of the table, Odds Now's Brad Walker has delved into the festive fixtures to pick out a tidy 8/1 accumulator for you to dive into.

Selection #1 - Nottingham Forest to beat Tottenham

Forest continued to raise eyebrows with a 2-0 away win at Brentford last time out, becoming the first team to secure victory at the Gtech Community Stadium this season in the process.

Remarkably, the result means Nuno Espirito Santo's side will spend Christmas Day fourth in the table and just four points off second-place. 

They have also claimed four wins in their last five at the City Ground and welcome an injury-hit Tottenham side who have just one win since their 4-0 victory at the Etihad last month. 

All in all, Forest are on a roll and have shown no signs of slowing down, compared to a Spurs side who are unable to get any momentum going in the league.

Selection #2 - West Ham to beat Southampton

Questions remain over Julen Lopetegui's long-term future at the London Stadium but the Spaniard will have been pleased to see his side battle back to earn a point against Brighton last time out. 

The Hammers fell behind against the Seagulls on their own patch but quickly responded through a Mohammed Kudus equaliser, leaving them eight points clear of the relegation zone. 

And while Southampton held out for a 0-0 draw at Fulham on Saturday, it's hard to envisage the home side picking up anything here. 

To be fair, new boss Ivan Juric will be in the St Mary's dugout for the first time as he looks to engineer the seemingly impossible task of avoiding relegation, but how can you reasonably back his men given their results this term?

Southampton have just six points to their name so far and are averaging 2.63 goals conceded in front of their home fans. 

The Londoners are also averaging a solid 1.44 goals in away fixtures and remain the sensible pick to come out on top here.

Selction #3 - Newcastle to beat Aston Villa

Eddie Howe's Newcastle have been riddled with inconsistency at times this season but have now put together three wins on the spin.

Two of those have seen them win by a 4-0 scoreline, including their latest romp away at Ipswich on Saturday. 

Talismanic striker Alexander Isak netted a hat-trick at Portman Road, leaving the Swede with six goals in his last five heading into this one.

Newcastle look to be hitting form at the right time amid the packed Christmas schedule and face a Villa side who have really struggled on their travels recently. 

While Unai Emery's men boast four wins in their last five overall, they have lost five of their last six on the road. 

The run leaves them with just the eleventh-best away record in the Premier League and while Newcastle have been far from convincing at home this season, Howe's crop remain a safe pick in this one for me.
