Premier League Darts is back once again this Thursday, this time landing at the Brighton Centre. The action follows from Nathan Aspinall's shock victory in Exeter on Night Five.
The Premier League will air at 7:00pm this Thursday on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Mix.
Eight of the best darts players face-off in a mini tournament with quarter-finals, semi-finals and a final all taking place on each night. The Premier League takes place across 16 nights in total, with this week's event being the sixth. Each match will be played over the best of eleven legs.
Players will be rewarded with ranking points each night - five to the winner, three to the losing finalist, and two to the players who lose in the semi-finals. Points will be added up across the 16 weeks, with the top four players proceeding to the tournament play-offs in May.
The night kicks off with World Champion and last week’s UK Open runner-up Luke Humphries, who finds himself fourth after five nights. 'Cool Hand' looks to be finding some form once again after enduring a difficult spell since winning the World Championships in January. He faces seventh-placed Gerwyn Price, who suffered a shock 6-1 quarter-final defeat to Rob Cross in Exeter.
The second quarter-final sees Michael Van Gerwen taking on last week’s runner-up, the aforementioned Cross. 'MvG' was beaten by Humphries in the quarter-final last week, a loss which brought an end to a nine-game winning streak for the Dutchman. Van Gerwen still finds himself top heading into Night Six, while Cross sits in sixth.
Last week's winner Nathan Aspinall faces-off against teenage sensation Luke Littler. Aspinall's victory in Exter stirred quite the shock, while Littler has somewhat plateaued since his heroics at the start of the year. A quarter-final victory over Michael Smith was followed by a disappointing Littler showing over Cross in the semi-final.
Peter Wright and Smith collide in the final quarter-final. Wright is yet to win a game and is in great danger of losing complete contact with the rest of the group if he doesn’t find one soon. Smith on the other hand will look to bounce back after a disappointing display against Littler.
