Wolverhampton Wanderers take on the lowest ranked side remaining in the FA Cup when they host Coventry City at Molineux in Saturday's quarter-final.

Wolves edged out Premier League Brighton in the last round with a 1-0 victory at home. Coventry meanwhile avoided a cup shock by knocking out non-league Maidstone United with a 5-0 win at home.

Kick-off is set for 12:15pm local time in the West Midlands.

Recent Form

Wolves

Wolves are coming into this fixture in great form having won three of their last four league games. Their most recent outing saw them secure a 2-1 home victory over Fulham in the Premier League.

Gary O'Neil's side have fared well on home turf this season. They've averaged 1.71 points per match at Molineux in the league (W7, D3, L4) and have won three of their last five league games there. Wolves have scored 22 goals in front of their home fans while conceding 21.

They are also exceeding their expected goal (xG) tally of 1.19 home goals, averaging 1.57 goals on home soil so far. Their expected goals against (xGA) at home sits at 1.47 per game, but O'Neil's have shipped slightly more, at an average of 1.5 per home match.

Wolves' home games have also averaged a total of 3.07 goals so far this season, with both teams scoring in 71%.

Coventry

Mark Robins' side currently sit eighth in the Championship and harbour ambitions of a spot in the play-offs. They have only won two of their last five matches on the road in the league however, and have been a much stronger side on their own patch.

An average of 1.32 points per away game (W7, D4, L8) leaves Coventry with the seventh-best away record in the league, but Wolves mark a significant step-up for the Sky Blues.

Coventry are exceeding their xG tally of 1.4 goals per away match, netting an average of 1.58 goals on the road so far, and are also conceding less than expected (1.18) with an average of just 0.94 away goals shipped so far.

They have only kept clean sheets in 14% of away matches so far though, and have conceded at least two goals in 42%.

Coventry's away games have averaged a total of 2.95 goals, with both teams scoring in 74%.

Prediction

Wolves undoubtedly enter as strong favourites. Both clubs have averaged high-scoring games this season and have a tendency to score whilst also conceding, with plenty of goal-mouth action anticipated this weekend.
