Champions League-chasing Newcastle welcome a stuttering Fulham side to St James' Park on Saturday afternoon.

Odds Now's Brad Walker (@brad_TWalker) has combed over the fixture to see where the best value lies.

Newcastle predictably returned to winning ways at St Mary's last weekend, beating bottom-placed Southampton by a 3-1 scoreline.

The result exorcised any demons lingering from their shock 4-1 loss at home to Bournemouth a week prior and leaves them in a strong position in the top four race.

Eddie Howe's side know another win will see them overtake Manchester City to go fourth ahead of the latter's match-up with Arsenal the following day.

With just a single loss in their last 11 in all competitions, a key facet of Newcastle's impressive run has been the form of striker Alexander Isak.

The Swede netted two goals against Southampton last week, leaving him with a mighty 13 goals in his last 10 league appearances.

Isak will be eyeing adding more to his tally, particularly considering the patchy form of opponents Fulham in recent weeks.

Marco Silva's men have picked up only two wins in their last six, a period which includes a disappointing 1-0 home defeat to a poor Manchester United side last weekend.

Their poor form has seen Fulham drop down to 10th in the league ahead of their long trip up to Newcastle.

Newcastle's strength on home turf

Many eyebrows were raised by the Magpies' heavy loss to Bournemouth a couple of weeks ago, but there can be no denying that Newcastle have overall impressed since the start of December.

Seven of their last eight league matches have ended in victory and while a win over Southampton is hardly an ample measuring stick to determine if the Bournemouth loss was just a blip, Newcastle will be further boosted by their record in this fixture.

They are unbeaten in their last eight home matches against Fulham, five of which ended in a win and while the Cottagers may have won the reverse fixture 3-1 in September, recent history suggests another win for Silva's men is unlikely.

Fulham have only completed a league double over them on two occasions in the Premier League, with the last coming in the 2008/09 season.

Add in Newcastle's strength on home soil - they've lost only three of their last 19 league games at St James' Park - then backing the home win looks a sensible pick.

Fulham have only failed to score away from home on occasion this season though and so a Newcastle win with both teams scoring at 9/4 with Sky Bet holds plenty of value.
