Huddersfield Town look for three vital points when they host mid-table Swansea City on Saturday afternoon.

The hosts sit in 22nd heading into the fixture while Swansea have managed to distance themselves from the relegation zone, finding themselves in 14th and eleven points clear of their opponents this weekend.

A late Charlie Patino strike saw Swansea rescue a point in the reverse fixture, where the two sides played out a 1-1 draw. Kick-off is set for 3pm UK time at the John Smith's Stadium.

Recent Form

Huddersfield Town

Andre Breitenreiter's men are in dire need for an improvement in form if they are to retain their Championship status next season. Just one win in their last eight leaves them in imminent danger of relegation to League One with just three games remaining of the campaign.

Town fans can take some hope from their home form this season, where they've averaged 1.19 points per game compared to a measly 0.86 on the road. Though they've lost three of their last five at home, their most recent outing saw them secure a 1-0 victory over Millwall.

Goals haven't necessarily been the issue, particularly on home soil, where they've netted an average of 1.19 and scored in 81% of their fixtures. It's at the other end of the pitch where Huddersfield have struggled; 1.48 goals conceded on average, coupled with their conceding in 71% of home fixtures, have cost them. This is still an improvement on their away form though, where they've averaged 1.77 goals conceded so far.

Swansea City

The away side head to West Yorkshire on the back of consecutive victories, both of which also saw them keep a clean sheet. A 3-0 home win over Stoke City was followed by a 1-0 ousting of relegated Rotherham United in South Wales to leave the Swans a comfortable eleven points clear of the drop zone with three matches remaining.

They've only won once in their last five matches on the road though, and enter the weekend with the 17th-worst away record in the Championship. Conceding goals has been a major problem for Luke Williams' side, who have averaged 1.67 goals shipped in away fixtures so far. They've also kept clean sheets in just 14% of these games.

Swansea do tend to find the net on their travels though, scoring in 81% of away games this season, 38% seeing them bag two or more.

Prediction

The travelling side are in the better form of the two but, with their Championship status pretty much secured for next season, Swansea now have little to play for between now and the season's end. A drop in performance is usually seen in such sides, while Huddersfield are fighting for their life at the bottom of the table. Every point counts for them, and OddsNow back Huddersfield's extra motivation and home advantage to push them over the line this weekend.
