Barcelona look to maintain feint hopes of catching La Liga leaders Real Madrid when they host Mallorca at the Camp Nou on Friday evening.

Barca find themselves third in the league, one point off second-placed Girona but a huge eight points off table-topping Madrid. Fourth-placed Atletico Madrid are just a point behind the Catalan giants after 27 matches played.

How to Watch Barcelona vs Mallorca in the UK:

UK viewers can watch the game live on ViaPlay Sports 1 and LALIGATV. Kick-off is set for 8pm UK time.

Recent Form:

The 27-time La Liga champions head into the match after a 0-0 draw away to fifth-placed Athletic Bilbao on Sunday. Barcelona are unbeaten in seven games but 34 goals conceded in the league have already cost Xavi's side. Bilbao also knocked the Spanish giants out of the Copa del Rey last month, meaning an unlikely triumph in the Champions League stands as Barca's greatest shot at silverware between now and the end of the season.

Mallorca upset second-placed Girona with a 1-0 home win on Sunday to make it three games unbeaten for the Balearic Islanders. Javier Aguirre's side find themselves in 15th heading into the match, sitting a comfortable eight points above the relegation zone after 27 games.

Los Piratas also prevailed to the final of the Copa del Rey after defeating Real Sociedad on penalties at the end of February. A final against Bilbao awaits next month.

Team News:

Barcelona full-back Marcos Alonso misses the match with a back injury, while midfielder Frankie de Jong will also be absent until the end of April due to ankle trouble. Midfielder Pedri also misses out with a muscular issue, and winger Ferran Torres remains a doubt due to a thigh injury. Left-back Alex Balde and midfielder Gavi are ruled out for the rest of the season, while centre-back Ronald Araujo is suspended.

Mallorca are without right-back Pablo Maffeo due to a knee injury, while defensive midfielder Omar Mascarell is out through suspension.
