Eastern Conference leaders Inter Miami travel to mid-table DC United on Saturday of a third win in four outings.

Miami go to DC having progressed through their CONCACAF Champions Cup tie with Nashville on Wednesday with a 5-3 aggregate win. Kick-off is set for 6pm UK time at the Audi Field.

Recent Form

DC United

DC enter the match in sixth place after taking five points from their opening three matches (W1, D2). Their most recent outing saw them play out a 0-0 draw at Cincinnati last Sunday. They have however won their only home match in the MLS this season, ousting New England Revolution 3-1 in the season opener.

Troy Lesesne's side have averaged an expected goal (xG) tally of 1.82 in their three matches so far, scoring an average of 1.67 goals per game. Their expected goals against (xGA) tally sits at 1.34, though they've only conceded an average of one goal so far this season.

They will be hoping for striker Christian Benteke to continue his early season form. The Belgian has 3 goals from five shots at a conversion rate of 60%.

Inter Miami

Despite topping the MLS Eastern Conference, Inter Miami have endured a mixed bag of form so far. Gerardo Martino's side have averaged 1.75 points per match (W2, D1, L1), and succumbed to a 3-2 away defeat at Montreal in their most recent league outing.

They've exceeded their expected goal tally of 1.51 by scoring an average of 2.5 goals per game so far. Miami have also excelled defensively, averaging an xGA of 1.49 but only conceding an average of one goal per game.

They've also scored the most goals so far in MLS with ten. Talisman Lionel Messi has already scored three from eleven shots at a conversion rate of 27.27%, while striker Luis Suarez boasts the most goal contributions (5) across both conferences.

Prediction

There is no doubt that the stars will come to play at the Audi Field on Saturday, but the travel and extra game in midweek might prove a burden for Messi and co. DC will be buoyed by their home outing against New England and will no doubt look to continue that form against Miami in search of a second win in four matches.
