The weekend's Premier League action concludes when top-four chasing Chelsea host a struggling West Ham on Monday evening. 

Can the Blues capitalise on Manchester City's lapse yesterday, or will the visitors further dent their Champions League hopes?

Chelsea's sudden decline in form around the Christmas period needs studying. 

Enzo Maresca's men were initially being spoken about as potential title challengers, yet now face a fight for their life to even land a spot in the top four. 

Chelsea have just a single win to their name from their last seven and were handed a disappointing 3-1 loss at Manchester City last weekend, despite taking an early lead. 

Noni Madueke initially opened the scoring at the Etihad, where the momentum suggested the Blues could add more to their tally before bizarrely taking their foot off the gas. 

City were consequently allowed back into it and, courtesy of a couple Robert Sanchez mistakes, went on to win the game. 

Meanwhile, visiting West Ham head to Stamford Bridge also finding wins hard to come by. 

The Hammers have also claimed only one win in their last six, though they did battle back to earn a 1-1 draw at Aston Villa last time out. 

A poor away record has severely hampered them, though. Their only win on the road since the end of November came at bottom-placed Southampton.

A peek at these sides' recent meetings at Stamford Bridge paints a difficult picture for West Ham fans.

The visitors have lost their last four away games against Chelsea, failing to score in three of those games in the process.

In fact, West Ham haven't scored in five of their last six visits to the west Londoners.

However, the defensive record of the hosts this weekend suggest that could change and goals could indeed lie in wait. 

Chelsea have kept only a single clean sheet at home so far, while the Hammers have scored in all but one of their away outings in the league.

Seven of the Blues' 11 games have also seen over 2.5 scored, largely due to a combination of attacking exuberance and defensive fragility. 

Chelsea will also be encouraged by the fact that, for all of their recent frustrations, they've only lost once in their last 10 games. 

Ultimately, their added quality in forward areas should see them over the line on home turf, but expect the game to provide an entertaining watch on the way.
