Hit the target with our Champions League shots treble

The Champions League play-off round continues on Wednesday night, with four more first legs played across the continent.

On the hunt for value, our in-form tipster Adam Drury has picked out three players it's worth grouping together in the shots markets for the evening's action. 

Selection #1 - Arne Engels (Celtic) v Bayern Munich

Engels is a prolific shooter in the Scottish Premiership, having managed 24 efforts in his last six league starts.

And while he is not quite as potent on the European stage, firing off at least one effort in six of his seven league-stage outings is enough for us to safely include him here.

The midfielder let rip twice away at Borussia Dortmund and also managed a solitary effort in a backs-to-the-wall display at Atalanta.

Celtic should recognise that this first leg is their best chance to do damage in this tie and we expect them to be on the front foot where possible, which should help us out.

Selection #2 - Theo Hernandez (AC Milan) v Feyenoord

Hernandez is arguably the most attacking left-back playing at the highest level of European football, posting an average of 1.9 shots per game in the Champions League this season.

The French international let strikes fly in seven of his eight league-stage games, managing more than one in five of them, while he has also had a shot in his last seven Serie A matches.

Feyenoord ranked ninth for shots conceded of the 36 teams in the first stage of this competition, so Hernandez should have every chance of adding to his tally here.

Selection #3 - Deniz Zakaria (Monaco) v Benfica

Zakaria took a shot in all of his last five Champions League games, only failing to do so against Barcelona in the league stage.

That run included a shot in this same fixture against Benfica in November, while the former Chelsea midfielder has also had an effort in all his last seven Ligue 1 appearances.

Only 12 of the 36 league-stage teams conceded fewer shots than Benfica so should offer up enough opportunities to have a pop at goal.
