Ballon D'or 2024 Betting Odds: Who will win in Paris?

Written by: Bradley Walker

The Ballon D'or 2024 ceremony is now almost three months away and, following the completion of the European Championships and Copa America this summer, we have a clearer picture of who might come out on top in Paris.

Odds Now have taken a close look at the betting markets to predict who will be announced as the world's best player for 2024.

Ballon D'or 2024 Betting Odds

Vinicius Junior 11/8

Rodri 13/8

Jude Bellingham 11/2

Dani Carvajal 10/1

Lamine Yamal 18/1

Vinicius Junior (11/8)

The Brazilian forward enjoyed his best season yet in Real Madrid colours during 2023/24.

Boasting 15 goals and 6 assists en route to Los Blancos' 36th La Liga title, Vinicius Jr was also a vital cog in the club's European campaign. Two goals in a semi-final first leg at Bayern Munich was followed by another strike against Borussia Dortmund in the final, confirming Madrid's 15th Champions League title with a 2-0 victory at Wembley Stadium.

Vinicius also netted two goals in Brazil's Copa America campaign. Suspension ruled him out of their quarter-final clash with Uruguay, an absence which was clearly felt as the Selecao bowed out after a 4-2 penalty shootout defeat.

Nevertheless, the Brazilian's form leaves him as one of the standout players in world football and the clear candidate to claim the Ballon D'or trophy in the French capital.

Rodri (13/8)

Vinicius' closest rival for the trophy is surely Spain and Manchester City midfield maestro Rodri. The 28-year-old also enjoyed a trophy-laiden year, beginning with a record fourth consecutive Premier League title at club level.

The Spaniard followed it up with more success, this time at international level, when he helped guide Spain to their fourth European Championship trophy in Berlin. Rodri continued his trend of netting vital goals, levelling proceedings in Spain's eventual 4-1 last 16 victory over Georgia, and was named the Player of the Tournament following their 2-1 win over England in the final.

A penalty shootout defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League remains his only defeat since February 2023 - a further demonstration of his vitality for both club and country.

While Vinicius Jr remains the favourite at the time of writing, backing Rodri at 13/8 could prove a very astute pick come October given his recent successes in Germany.

Jude Bellingham (11/2)

A move to one of Europe's big-hitters was an inevitability for the Stourbridge-born midfielder, but few could predict how quickly he'd acclimatise in Madrid colours.

Hitting the ground running following an £88.5m move to the Bernabeu last summer, only two players scored more than his 19 goals in La Liga last season - both of whom were strikers in Alexander Sorloth and Artem Dovbyk.

Bellingham also netted four times on Madrid's route to Champions League glory, earning him a place in the Team of the Tournament alongside teammates Dani Carvajal, Antonio Rudiger and Vinicius Jr.

He continued his heroics at the European Championships for England this summer. Two goals, including a stunning last-gasp bicycle kick to equalise against Slovakia, helped his nation to the final in Berlin.

Though the Three Lions came up short against Rodri and Spain, Bellingham has more than left his mark at both club and international level over the last 12 months.

He remains an outsider due to the exploits of the two players already discussed but could be worthy of a punt at a more than fair price of 11/2.

Dani Carvajal (10/1)

The Spanish right-back has made habit of winning trophies at club level in recent years. Prior to the 2023/24 season, Carvajal had already won the Champions League on five occasions. Madrid's victory over Dortmund in June meant that no other player had won the competition more times than the Spaniard, who is tied on six with teammate Luka Modric.

Los Blancos' La Liga triumph also saw Carvajal claim his fourth league winners medal, making him one of the most decorated players in the history of the club.

He had already won more in a single season than most players do in their careers but the Leganes native wasn't finished. Attention soon turned to Euro 2024, where he started five of Spain's matches en route to their fourth European Championship triumph.

Winning the Ballon D'or is admittedly unlikely due to the individual returns of the players listed above him. Nevertheless, winning three of the biggest trophies football has to offer in a matter of months makes the full-back a more than worthy mention in this conversation.

Lamine Yamal (18/1)

While Yamal's successes in Germany may have come too late to win a Ballon D'or, the Barcelona forward will no doubt be among the names contesting for the trophy in the forthcoming years.

His stunning equaliser versus France in the semi-final will be played for years to come but his efforts were far greater than being reduced to a single moment of brilliance.

Alongside Nico Williams on the opposing flank, the Spanish starlet wreaked havoc down Spain's right-hand side, drawing opposition personnel out wide and leaving space for the likes of Rodri and Fabian Ruiz to work their magic in central areas.

The teenager was not only named in the UEFA Team of the Tournament but also came out on top in the competition's assists charts, boasting four to his name.

A place on the podium is unlikely for the Spaniard this time around but expect plenty of individual accolades to come his way over the next decade.

Odds Now's Ballon D'or Best Bet:

The winner will become just the third player not named Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo to win the award since 2008.

We believe the competition boils down to either Vinicius Jr or Rodri, but the former's role in a dominant Real Madrid side makes him our pick here.
