With just 24 professional fights between them, both Johnny Fisher (11-0, 10KOs) and Alen Babic (12-1, 11KOs) are renowned for their all-action styles in a boxing ring. All heavyweight bouts come with an expectation of a knockout but the sounding of the final bell seems inconceivable ahead of their clash in the English capital this weekend.
While neither are blessed with technical ability, one thing that is for sure ahead of their meeting is they'll both be coming with the sole aim of rendering the other unconscious. Both have a track record of doing so, with a combined 21 knockouts between them.
Babic possesses the better KO ratio out of the two, though, boasting a 91.67% ratio compared to Fisher's 90.91%. The Croatian has also fought at the higher level, challenging then WBC bridgerweight champion Lukasz Rozanski back in April, 2023. The night ended in devastating fashion for Babic, though, who was remarkably stopped in the opening round to suffer his professional defeat of his career.
To his credit, he has since responded with a sixth-round stoppage of Steve Robinson in March, but questions remain whether he has the physicality to put a dent in Fisher this weekend.
'The Romford Bull' has won all 11 of his contests, albeit at domestic level, and captured the Southern Area Heavyweight crown in August last year. Like Babic, Fisher's technical ability is limited but as a former rugby player, the 25-year-old possesses strength in abundance and has already demonstrated a rugged chin.
Coupled with his 6'4" frame, which leaves him with a three-inch advantage in height over Babic, it's difficult to see the Englishman suffering a loss this weekend. This is reflected in the market, where Fisher comes in as a 1/6 favourite ahead of the contest.
Given everything we've just outlined above, it's hard to make a case for Babic getting his hand raised. And while we strongly favour Fisher to get the job done, so do the bookmakers who have him a strong favourite to win both outright and via TKO/KO.
However, given the hectic styles of both men, an early knockout could certainly be on the cards. Fisher has won four of his last six fights inside the opening two rounds and will be granted plenty of opportunities to land early due to Babic's almost non-existent defence.
We will therefore be backing the fight to end early on Saturday, with Ladbrokes offering under 3.5 rounds at just over even money.
Best Bet: Fight to go under 3.5 rounds @ 5/4 (Ladbrokes)
